Biography: David Baszucki is best known as the co-founder and CEO of Roblox Corporation, a popular online gaming platform.

Baszucki grew up in Minnesota where he developed interests in dirt bikes, go-karts and science fiction. He attended Stanford University, graduating in 1985 with a degree in electrical engineering.

In the late 1980s, Baszucki co-founded Knowledge Revolution with his brother Greg. The company developed educational physics simulation software, including "Interactive Physics" and "Working Model". Knowledge Revolution was acquired by MSC Software in 1998 for $20 million.

Baszucki began working on Roblox with Erik Cassel in 2003. The platform, which allows users to create and play games, officially launched in 2006. Baszucki was inspired to create Roblox by the success of his earlier educational software.

In addition to his work with Roblox, Baszucki is involved in various philanthropic efforts. In 2021, he launched the Baszucki Group and the Baszucki Brain Research Fund. He has also made significant donations to support research into lymphoma and bipolar disorder.

Baszucki currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife, novelist Jan Ellison, and their four children. As of 2020, his 13% stake in Roblox Corporation was valued at approximately $470 million.
