Biography: Lou Bega is a German singer, best known for his 1999 hit single "Mambo No. 5." The song, a remake of the mambo and jazz dance song originally recorded by Pérez Prado in 1949, topped the charts across Europe and was nominated for a Grammy Award.

Bega subsequently released his debut album A Little Bit of Mambo (1999), which also enjoyed commercial success with several popular singles. His later albums like Ladies and Gentlemen (2001) and Free Again (2010) did not achieve nearly the same level of popularity, with Bega being labeled a one-hit wonder in many markets.

Despite this, he has maintained a steady career, particularly in Germany and other parts of Europe, and continues to tour and perform on television.
