Biography: Peter Molyneux is best known for his highly innovative games, including "Black and White" (2001) and "Fable" (2004).

Molyneux began his career in 1982 selling computer games on floppy disks. He created his first game, "The Entrepreneur" (1984), a business simulation. After a brief stint exporting baked beans, Molyneux returned to software development.

In 1987, Molyneux co-founded Bullfrog Productions. The company's game "Populous" (1989) sold over 4 million copies and established a new type of game where players act as a god-like figure. Electronic Arts bought Bullfrog in 1995, and Molyneux left in 1997.

Molyneux then started Lionhead Studios. The company released "Black & White" (2001), another game where players take on a god-like role. Lionhead also created the Fable series of role-playing games. Microsoft bought Lionhead in 2006 and made Molyneux its creative director for Europe.

In 2012, Molyneux left Microsoft to form 22cans. This new company developed games like "Godus" and "The Trail." In 2023, Molyneux announced a new game set in the "Fable" universe.

Throughout his career Molyneux has received many honors, receiving an OBE in 2004 and a BAFTA Fellowship in 2011. He is also known for recruiting Demis Hassabis to Bullfrog, who at 17 worked as co-designer and lead programmer on "Theme Park."
