Biography: Sean McColl is a Canadian rock climber known for his versatility and success across the lead, speed, and bouldering disciplines. His career is marked by victories in competitions and impressive ascents in outdoor climbing.

Born in North Vancouver, McColl began his journey in rock climbing by training with the Canada Youth National Climbing Team and triumphed at the Youth World Championships from 2002 to 2004, taking gold medals each year.

As his climbing career advanced into adulthood, McColl emerged victorious at the 12th Annual ABS Nationals in 2011. His peak competitive period came in 2012 when he achieved 10 podium finishes, which included an overall first-place win at the IFSC Climbing World Championships, secured by a second-place finish in lead and fourth in bouldering.

In subsequent years, McColl further solidified his standing in the climbing community by winning the Combined World Cup in 2014 and 2016 and taking home a bronze medal at The World Games in 2017. His performance at the 2019 IFSC Climbing World Championships earned him a spot at the 2020 Summer Olympics, where he finished 17th.

Beyond competitions, McColl also made a name for himself in entertainment by participating in American Ninja Warrior: USA vs. The World, where he led Team Europe to victory in both 2014 and 2018.

McColl's outdoor climbing accomplishments include the second ascent of the challenging route Dreamcatcher in Squamish, British Columbia, in 2009. Additionally, he achieved a notable one-attempt flash of the route Nagual at the Hueco Rock Rodeo in 2012.
