Biography: Patrice Désilets is best known for creating the "Assassin's Creed" series.

Désilets earned a degree in film studies and literature from the University of Montreal in 1996. He then began his career working on games like "Hype: The Time Quest" (1999) and "Disney's Donald Duck: Goin' Quackers" (2000).

His breakthrough was as the creative director for the highly successful game "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" (2003). Désilets then created and directed "Assassin's Creed" (2007), "Assassin's Creed II" (2009), and "Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood" (2010).

In June 2010, Désilets left Ubisoft in search of more creative freedom. He joined THQ in June 2011 as Creative Director, working on "1666 Amsterdam." THQ went bankrupt in December 2012, however, and THQ Montreal was sold to Ubisoft.

Désilets was then fired by Ubisoft in May 2013, leading to a legal battle where he eventually won back the rights to "1666 Amsterdam" in April 2016.

Désilets started his own independent studio, Panache Digital Games, in Montreal in December 2014. The studio released "Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey" in 2019.
