Biography: Alanis Morissette is a Canadian-American singer-songwriter who began her career in Canada before releasing Jagged Little Pill (1995) which sold 33 million copies worldwide. She won a Grammy Award for this album in 1996, and the album was made into a rock musical in 2017.

She has since released a number of albums, and had several well-known singles including "You Oughta Know," "Hand in My Pocket," and "Thank You." She is the record-holder for female artist with most No. 1s on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart.

Over the course of her career, Morrissette has won seven Grammy Awards and sold more than 75 million records worldwide.
