Biography: Knott gave his name to the famous Knott's Berry Farm and he also popularized the boysenberry along with George M. Darrow.

As the popularity of the berry and the Knott family's preserves and pies grew in the 1930s, their farm grew into an amusement park, with the construction of a ghost town in 1940, and various other attractions throughout the decade.

Knott and fellow amusement park builder Walt Disney allegedly had a friendly relationship, and visited each other's parks.
