Biography: Foyt is one of the great all-round motor racing drivers of all-time. He is the only driver to win the Indianapolis 500 (1961, 64, 67, 77), Daytona 500, 24 Hours of Daytona, 24 Hours of Le Mans as well as the 12 Hours of Sebring.
He has driven Champ cars, sprint cars, midget cars, stock cars, sports cars, all with great success. He holds the USAC career wins record with 159 victories and has a record 67 American championship titles.
Since retiring from active race driving, Foyt has owned A. J. Foyt Enterprises, fielding teams in CART, IRL and NASCAR. He was inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2000.
