Biography: Allie Reynolds was an American baseball pitcher, best known for his time with the Cleveland Indians (1942-1946) and the New York Yankees (1947-1954). He was a six-time World Series champion (1947, 1949-1953) and All-Star (1945, 1949, 1950, 1952-1954).

Reynolds was nicknamed 'Superchief' by other plays on account of his Creek Indian heritage and the way in which he was maintained a steady command on the pitching mound. He was himself uncomfortable with the nickname because he knew the importance of this title.
