Biography: Amitabh Bachchan is an Indian actor, known for his work in Hindi cinema. He is one of the most successful and influential actors in the history of Indian cinema, having been dominant during the 1970s and 1980s.
He was known for his on-screen roles as India's "angry young man," particularly for his characters in films such as Zanjeer (1973) and Deewaar (1975). Bachchan has since featured in over 200 Indian films over a career of more than five decades.
Outside of Bollywood, Bachchan is known for featuring in Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby (2013) in which he played Meyer Wolfsheim.
