Biography: Anne was the Queen of England, Scotland and Ireland from her succession in 1702 until she became the Queen of Great Britain under the Acts of Union in 1707. She reigned in this role until her death in 1714.
Anne was the last monarch from the House of Stuart, having died childless (she had seventeen pregnancies, and all of her children predeceased her.) During her reign she supported Tory politicians until dismissing them from office in 1710 during the War of the Spanish Succession.
Sick for much of her life, Anne died in 1714, and was succeeded by her second cousin George I.
