Biography:The Swedish scientist is considered the 'the father of modern taxonomy'.
In 1753 Linnaeus published his " Species Plantarum", which defined the principles for grouping, ranking and naming organisms into genera and species (binomial nomenclature). it was quickly adapted by other botanists and expanded.
