Biography: Cecil Fielder was one of the premier baseball power hitters in the 1980s and 1990s.

In the mid-80s he made his MLB debut for the Toronto Blue Jays and then played a season in Japan for the Hanshin Tigers. However his career best baseball came on his return to the Detroit Tigers 1990-96.

With the Tigers, Fielder was a 3-time All-Star, 2-time Silver Slugger Award winner, 2-time AL home run leader and 3-time AL RBI leader. He also won a World Series with the Atlanta Braves in 1996.

Together with son Prince, the Fielders are the only father and son to both have 50-home run seasons in MLB history. They share a 319 career home run record, tied for 120th on the career MLB home run list.
