Biography: Chandra Bahadur Dangi held the record for being the shortest man in recorded history. He measured 54.6 cm (1 ft 9+1⁄2 in), breaking the previous record set by Gul Mohammed.

Dangi was born in Salyan, Nepal, in 1939. He had five brothers and two sisters, with three of his brothers also being very short. The medical condition that stunted his growth is unknown.

Before being recognized by Guinness World Records in 2012, Dangi had never left his home village where he worked as a weaver. After receiving the title of the world's shortest man, he expressed his wish to travel the world and promote his country.

In 2012, Dangi met the world's shortest woman, Jyoti Amge of India. They posed together for the 2013 edition of The Guinness Book of Records. In 2014, he also met the world's tallest living man, Sultan Kösen, at an event in London.

Dangi passed away in 2015 at the age of 75 while touring the South Pacific with a circus. He had previously been suffering from pneumonia, but the exact cause of his death was not disclosed.
