Biography: Charles Taze Russell was an American religious leader, best known for founding what is now called the Bible Student movement. He was a restorationist minister and early Christian Zionist.

The Bible Student movement emerged from Russell's teaching, particularly the works he published in his monthly magazine "Zion's Watch Tower and Herald of Christ's Presence." He also published a six-volume Bible study series initially titled "Millenial Dawn."

Russell founded the Zion's Watch Tower Tract Society with William Henry Conley in 1881, and the organization served as the base for his publishing activities. When he died in 1916, the society fragmented into a variety of groups under the broad umbrella of Bible Students.
