Biography: Dave Chappelle is an American stand-up comedian and actor. He came to fame with his comedy sketch series Chapelle's Show (2003-2006), which he quit in the middle of the third season. He has since become a major stand-up comic in the United States, being ranked No. 9 in Rolling Stone's list of the "50 Best Stand Up Comics of All Time."

Alongside his stand-up career, Chapelle has also starred in a variety of films such as The Nutty Professor (1996), Con Air (1997), and A Star Is Born (2018). He has also worked in television, especially the comedy series Buddies (1996).

For his work in comedy and acting, Chapelle has been nominated for and won a large number of awards. He has won six Emmy Awards, four Grammy Awards, and in 2019, the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. The latter is the highest comedy honor in the United States.
