Biography: Dave Kingman is an American former professional baseball player. The three-time All-Star played as an outfielder and first baseman in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1971 to 1986.

Kingman attended the University of Arizona, where he played college baseball for the Arizona Wildcats baseball team. He was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the first round of the 1969 Major League Baseball Draft.

Kingman made his MLB debut with the Giants in 1971. He played for the Giants until 1976, when he was traded to the Mets. He also played for the Cubs, Padres, Angels, and Yankees. He retired from baseball in 1986.

Kingman was known for his prodigious home runs. He hit 442 home runs in his career, including a career-high 48 in 1979. He also holds the record for most strikeouts in a season, with 189 in strikeout-prone 1983.
