Biography: Diana Taurasi is a professional basketball player who has played for the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury since 2004. She is a nine-time WNBA All-Star and was the league's MVP in 2009. Taurasi has also played professionally in Russia and Turkey.

Taurasi played college basketball at the University of Connecticut from 2000 to 2004. She was a three-time National Player of the Year and led the Huskies to three NCAA titles. She was the first pick in the 2004 WNBA Draft and has since become one of the league's most recognizable players.

In addition to her WNBA successes, Taurasi has also won four Olympic gold medals with the United States women's national basketball team. She was a part of the team that won the gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens and also won gold medals at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
