Biography: John Henry "Doc" Holliday was an American gambler, gunfighter, and dentist in the late 19th century. Trained as a dentist, Holliday's career took a turn when he was diagnosed with tuberculosis, prompting him to move to the western states for their drier climate. However, it was in these Western towns that he became an iconic figure in the American Old West, known for his sharpshooting skills and close friendship with lawman Wyatt Earp.

In the west, Holliday earned a reputation as a skilled card player, often participating in gambling at local saloons. This led to several disputes, some of which turned violent, further adding to his notorious reputation. It was during this time that Holliday befriended Wyatt Earp, a friendship that would prove crucial in the events leading up to the infamous Gunfight at the O.K. Corral in Tombstone, Arizona.

Holliday's role in the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, where he fought alongside the Earp brothers against the Clanton-McLaury gang, cemented his legacy as one of the most notable figures in the American Old West. His health, however, continued to deteriorate due to his tuberculosis, and he passed away at the age of 36.
