Biography: Dominik Hašek is widely regarded as one of the greatest goaltenders of all time.

Hašek started playing hockey at the age of six in Czechoslovakia. He joined the Czechoslovak Extraliga with HC Pardubice at 16, becoming the youngest professional hockey player in history. Hašek won two league titles with HC Pardubice and played for the Czechoslovakia national team, including at the 1988 Winter Olympics.

Hašek was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in 1983 and made his NHL debut with them in 1990-91. He was traded to the Buffalo Sabres in 1992 and quickly established himself as one of the league's best goaltenders. Hašek won six Vezina Trophies between 1993 and 2001 and became the first goaltender to win the Hart Memorial Trophy twice.

Hašek was traded to the Detroit Red Wings in 2001 and won his first Stanley Cup in 2002. He briefly retired after the 2002 season but returned to play for the Red Wings, winning his second Stanley Cup in 2008 at the age of 43. Hašek was known for his unique "flopping" style and unconventional saves, earning him the nickname "The Dominator."

Hašek announced his retirement from the NHL in 2008 but came out of retirement to play in the Czech Extraliga and KHL. He officially retired in 2012 at the age of 47. Hašek was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2014 and named one of the "100 Greatest NHL Players" in 2017.
