Biography: Don Cherry is a Canadian ice hockey commentator and former professional ice hockey player and NHL coach. Cherry co-hosted the "Coach's Corner" intermission segment during the first intermission of the Canadian "Hockey Night in Canada" television broadcasts, along with broadcaster Ron MacLean, from 1986 to 2019.

Cherry is known for his flamboyant style and outspoken manner. He often wears eccentric, brightly colored suits and is not shy about expressing his strong opinions about the sport. As a commentator, Cherry has often been the subject of controversy due to his candid and often abrasive manner of speaking.

As a player, Cherry had a lengthy minor league career, primarily with the American Hockey League's Rochester Americans. As a coach, he is best remembered for his time with the Boston Bruins. Cherry's coaching career was very successful, and he won the Jack Adams Award (for the NHL's top coach) in 1976. Despite never winning a Stanley Cup, his Bruins teams were constant contenders.
