Biography: Goodwin is particularly noted for her critically acclaimed biographies of US presidents, including Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln (2005) which was eventually adapted into the 2012 Steven Spielberg movie Lincoln and was cited as one of President Barack Obama's favorite books.

Her other works include No Ordinary Time: Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt: The Home Front in World War II (1994) which won the 1995 Pulitzer Prize for History.
