Biography: Eddie Vedder is an American singer, songwriter, and musician best known as the lead vocalist, one of three guitarists, and the primary lyricist of the American rock band Pearl Jam. Vedder's rise to fame began in 1990 when Pearl Jam's debut album, Ten, was released and spawned the hit singles "Alive," "Even Flow," and "Jeremy."

This debut album reached number two on the Billboard 200 chart and eventually sold more than 13 million copies in the United States alone. Vedder's singing helped propel the band to international success, and Pearl Jam has released 11 studio albums and won two Grammy Awards since then.

Vedder has also released a handful of solo studio albums, made appearances on numerous soundtracks, and collaborated with other artists. He has acted in films such as Into the Wild (2007) and Little Fockers (2010) and his work has been honored with a number of awards, including a Golden Globe nomination for his song "Guaranteed" from Into the Wild.
