Biography: François-Henri Pinault is the Chairman and CEO of Kering, a global luxury group. He has played a key role in transforming the company, formerly known as PPR, into a leading player in the luxury fashion industry.

Pinault is the son of François Pinault, who founded what would ultimately become PPR in 1963. After graduating from HEC School of Management in 1985, he began his career at PPR, holding various positions within the company.

In 2003, he became the vice-president of PPR and the president of Groupe Artémis, PPR's parent company.

In 2005, Pinault took the helm as the President and CEO of PPR. He led the company's transformation, focusing on luxury fashion by offloading retail assets and merging PPR with the Gucci group. This move brought Gucci's luxury portfolio under his direct supervision.

Pinault rebranded PPR as Kering in 2013, a nod to his Breton roots. He has been a strong advocate for sustainable development, implementing the "environmental profit and loss" (EP&L) accounting method. This measures the environmental impact of a company's activities in monetary terms.

Through his leadership, Kering's luxury revenues grew significantly from 2005 to 2017. Pinault has also been the president of Groupe Artémis since 2003, overseeing various businesses, including Christie's auction house and Stade Rennais F.C., a French football club. His family donated over $100 million to rebuild the Notre-Dame cathedral in 2019.

Pinault is married to actress Salma Hayek, and they have a daughter together. He has received several honors for his contributions to business and society, including being named a Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur in 2006.
