Hans Fischer

Profession: Physicist and Nobel Laureate

Biography: Hans Fischer was awarded the Nobel Prize for Chemistry for his research into bilirubin and for his synthesis of haemin as well as chlorophyll in leaves.

He committed suicide in the last days of WW II after his laboratory and life's work were destroyed.
