Biography:Mills gained a degree of fame after losing her left leg in a car accident in 1993, during which time she was a model. She continued to model after the accident with a prosthetic limb and wrote a book titled Out on a Limb in 1995.
Media attention around her grew when she met and married former Beatle, Sir Paul McCartney. They were married for six years before they divorced in 2008 amid enormous media scrutiny, particularly on Mills. After their divorce Mills was awarded £24.3 million.
