Along with Marie Skłodowska-Curie and Pierre Curie, Becquerel received the 1903 Nobel Prize in Physics.

The System International (SI) unit for radioactivity, the becquerel (Bq), is named after him, as are craters called Becquerel on the Moon and on Mars.
