Biography: Henry Winkler is an American actor, producer, director, and author. He first rose to fame for his role as Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli on the popular 1970s American sitcom Happy Days. The leather-jacket-wearing, motorcycle-riding "Fonz" was immensely popular and became a cultural icon, significantly defining Winkler's early career.

Born in New York to Jewish parents who emigrated from Germany, Winkler struggled with dyslexia, which was not diagnosed until he was 31. Despite this challenge, he graduated from Emerson College in 1967 and earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Yale School of Drama.

After his success with Happy Days, Winkler continued to work in film and television. He shifted towards producing and directing, working on shows like MacGyver and Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Despite being typecast from his role as the Fonz, Winkler was able to diversify his career and appeared in a variety of film and TV roles.

In addition to his work in entertainment, Winkler is a prolific author, especially known for co-authoring the "Hank Zipzer" series of children's books, which are inspired by his own struggles with dyslexia, as well as the television series based on these.

More recently, Winkler has gained acclaim for his role in the HBO dark comedy series Barry, created by Alec Berg and Bill Hader, for which he won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 2018.
