Biography: Jason Koumas is a Welsh footballer known for his time with clubs such as Tranmere Rovers, West Bromwich Albion, and Wigan Athletic, as well as for his role on the Wales national team. Lewis Koumas is his son.

Koumas began his professional career at Tranmere Rovers in the 1998-99 season. His technical abilities were noted early on, particularly during a standout performance against Everton in the FA Cup.

In 2002, Koumas secured a move to West Brom for £2.25 million and played a pivotal role in aiding their promotion in the 2003-04 season. Disputes with manager Bryan Robson led to a loan to Cardiff City for the 2005-06 season, where his play won him accolades including the club's Player of the Year.

Koumas later returned to West Brom and thrived under the management of Tony Mowbray. His performances were rewarded with the Championship Player of the Year in 2007. The same year, Koumas transferred to Wigan Athletic for £5.3 million but faced injury challenges and limited game time.

In 2010, a second loan to Cardiff City saw moments of brilliance overshadowed by inconsistency. Koumas ended his professional football journey where it began, retiring from Tranmere Rovers in 2015.

On the international stage, Koumas made the decision to represent Wales, debuting in 2001 and scoring ten goals across 34 appearances. Despite his skill on the pitch, his international career was tarnished by issues related to commitment, leading to his retirement from international football in 2009.
