Biography: The American comedian who had a long career in vaudeville, radio, film and TV, and who was known for his raspy delivery and distinctive nose was one of the country's most loved entertainers.
In 1934 he had a novelty hit record with "Inka Dinka Doo" and appeared on Broadway in the musical "Jumbo". On film he was paired with Buster Keaton for a number of Hollywood films. In 1943 he teamed up with Garry Moore for "The Durante-Moore Show" on radio. He later had a variety show on TV "The Jimmy Durante Show" from 1954-56.
