Biography: Joel Embiid is a Cameroonian professional basketball player known for his career with the Philadelphia 76ers. He has achieved recognition as an NBA MVP, respected for his scoring prowess and defensive skills. Embiid started playing basketball at 15, influenced by player Hakeem Olajuwon. Discovered by Luc Mbah a Moute, he moved to the U.S. to play high school basketball and later attended the University of Kansas.

After one season with Kansas, injuries interrupted his college career. Embiid nevertheless declared for the NBA draft in 2014, and the Philadelphia 76ers drafted him third overall.

Despite further injuries delaying his NBA debut, Embiid emerged as a key figure for the 76ers in the 2016–17 season, gaining the nickname "The Process." He led the team to significant improvements and earned numerous accolades.

In the 2021–22 and 2022–23 seasons, he led the NBA in scoring. Embiid was named NBA MVP in 2023.

Off the court, Embiid is known for his multicultural background, holding citizenship in Cameroon, France, and the United States. He married Anne de Paula and they have a son named Arthur. His life was marked by personal tragedy with the loss of his brother Arthur in 2014.
