Biography: Miroslav Klose is a German football player and manager, best known as a striker with the all-time highest number of goals scored for Germany. He also scored 16 goals in the FIFA World Cup tournament between 2002 and 2014, with which he holds the record for the most goals scored by any single player in the tournament.

Klose started his professional career in the Bundesliga with Kaiserslautern, then went on to play for Werder Breman. He won German Footballer of the Year in 2006. His goal-scoring here led him to join Bayern Munich in 2007, where he won the 2007-08 and 2009-10 league titles. Subsequently Klose moved to Serie A, playing with Lazio.

It is his time on the German national team, however, that is he is most remembered for. Klose scored five times at the 2006 World Cup, for which he won the Golden Boot. He scored four times in 2010 and twice in 2014. This meant that he surpassed Ronaldo's record of 15 World Cup goals.
