Biography:Roy Harris was an American composer, best known for his Symphony No. 3. He taught at Mills College and the Julliard School of Music during the 1930s. Subsequently he served throughout the remainder of his career at a vast variety of institutions as a teacher and in residencies.
Harris composed at least 18 symphonies during his career, and a total of over 170 works. He works of all sorts, from band to orchestra and chorus to chamber ensembles.
