Biography: One of the most influential and successful actors in Indian cinema, Khan is one of the most popular exponents of Bollywood in both India and the rest of the world. His film appearances include Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! (1994), Karan Arjun (1995), Biwi No.1 (1999) and Hum Saath-Saath Hain (1999). A number of his movies have been among the highest-grossing Indian films.

Khan has been involved in a number of controversies including a 2002 hit-and-run when he killed a Mumbai beggar. He was found guilty in 2015 of culpable homicide and was sentenced to five years in prison, but he appealed and was acquitted in December 2015.

In 2018 he was sentenced to five years in prison for hunting protected blackbuck in 1998 but is currently on bail awaiting an appeal.
