Biography: Tim Robbins is an American actor, director, and musician. Also recognized for his directorial work in Dead Man Walking (1995), Robbins has contributed significantly to both film and theater.

Tim Robbins started acting at age 12 and later attended UCLA Film School, where he graduated with a BA in Drama. He founded the Actors' Gang theater group with college friends, including John Cusack. His early work includes roles in St. Elsewhere (1982) and Moonlighting (1985), leading to his film debut in No Small Affair (1984) and a notable role in Top Gun (1986).

The breakthrough role of Nuke LaLoosh in Bull Durham (1988), alongside Susan Sarandon and Kevin Costner, brought Robbins into the spotlight. His performance in The Player (1992) won him a Golden Globe, and in the same year, he directed and starred in Bob Roberts (1992). It was his iconic role as Andy Dufresne in The Shawshank Redemption (1994), however, that most secured his legacy.

Politically active, Robbins has supported various presidential campaigns and is known for his opposition to the 2003 Iraq invasion and criticism of COVID-19 lockdown measures.
