Biography: As a composer, d'Indy has not experienced an excess of fame, yet as a teacher, he helped to shape a generation of French students: Erik Satie, Cole Porter, Albéric Magnard, etc.

He founded the Schola Cantorum de Paris with Charles Bordes and Alexandre Guilmant; and taught at the Paris Conservatoire.
