Biography: Zach Braff is best known for his leading role as J.D. on the TV series "Scrubs" (2001-2010) and for writing, directing, and starring in the movie "Garden State" (2004).

Braff grew up in New Jersey. He liked filmmaking from a young age and went to a performing arts camp where he made friends with Natalie Portman and Josh Charles, who also became actors.

Braff's career took off when he got the part of J.D. on "Scrubs.” The show was a success and Braff was nominated for an Emmy and three Golden Globes. In 2004, he made his first movie, "Garden State,” which he wrote, directed, and acted in. It was also a success and won various awards, including a Grammy for its soundtrack.

Since then, Braff has acted in movies like "The Last Kiss" (2006), "The Ex" (2006), and "In Dubious Battle" (2016). He also directed his second movie, "Wish I Was Here" (2014), which he funded partly through Kickstarter.

Braff has acted in plays too, like "All New People" and "Bullets Over Broadway The Musical" on Broadway.
