Biography: Alexander Hamilton was an American revolutionary and Founding Father of the United States. He founded a number of crucial organizations: the Federalist Party, the American financial system, the United States Coastal Guard, and the New York Post newspaper.
During the administration of President George Washington, Hamilton served as the first Secretary of the Treasury, in which role he devised the economic policies of the first American administration. Hamilton had a major influence on the early structure of the United States political and economic systems.
He is known also for his feud with Vice President Aaron Burr, which ended in a duel wherein Hamilton was killed by Burr.
