Biography: Andrew Tate is a British-American former kickboxer, reality TV personality, and internet personality. Best known for his kickboxing titles, appearance on Big Brother (2016), and his inflammatory online presence, Tate has become a highly controversial figure.

Tate began his martial arts training in 2005 and went on to win the ISKA Full Contact Cruiserweight Championship and two ISKA world titles. He retired from kickboxing with a substantial record.

Subsequently he appeared on Big Brother (2016), but was removed from the show due to a controversial video and an investigation into allegations of rape, which was later closed with no charges filed against him.

Following his time on television, Tate focused on online ventures. He operated a webcam model business and sold online courses on Hustler's University and The Real World.

These ventures, however, were overshadowed by various accusations including coercing women into sex work and promoting violence against women. Tate's statements have been widely criticized as misogynistic and sexist.

Tate's social media influence grew significantly, despite being banned from several platforms for policy violations. He continued his online presence through alternative sites and fan accounts. As of 2024 Tate had over 8.5 million followers on the platform formerly known as Twitter and was the third-most "googled" person in 2023.

His legal troubles intensified when he was arrested in Romania in December 2022, along with his brother Tristan and two women. They faced charges of rape, human trafficking, and forming an organized crime group. Tate, who moved to Romania in 2017 and converted to Islam in 2022, denied the allegations.

As of early 2024, Tate was under house arrest in Romania and had filed a defamation lawsuit seeking damages.
