Biography: Anthony Fokker was a Dutch aviation pioneer and aircraft manufacturer who played a significant role in the development of military and civil aviation during the early 20th century. He founded Fokker Aeroplanbau, later known as Fokker Aircraft Company, which became one of the world's leading aircraft manufacturers during the first half of the 20th century.

Fokker's early innovations in aircraft design and technology, such as the synchronization gear that allowed machine guns to fire through the arc of an airplane's propeller, revolutionized aerial combat during World War I. His Fokker Eindecker monoplane became the first true fighter aircraft and gave Germany a considerable advantage in air superiority.

After the war, Anthony Fokker shifted his focus to civilian aviation, contributing to the growth of commercial air travel through the development of passenger aircraft like the Fokker F.VII trimotor. His company's aircraft played a crucial role in the expansion of the airline industry during the 1920s and 1930s.
