Biography: Anthony Young was drafted by the New York Mets in 1987 and made his Major League debut with the team in 1991. Young pitched for the Mets until 1996, when he was traded to the Chicago Cubs. He pitched for the Cubs until 1998, when he was traded to the San Francisco Giants. Young pitched for the Giants until his retirement from baseball in 2002.

In his Major League career, Young compiled a record of 86-92 with an ERA of 4.12. He pitched 1,381 innings and struck out 1,045 batters.

Young was known for his durability, pitching over 200 innings in four different seasons. He was also known for his ability to pitch in pressure situations, as evidenced by his 20-9 record in one-run games.

After his retirement from baseball, Young opened a baseball academy in his hometown of Houston. He currently serves as a pitching coach at the academy.
