Biography: David Cone is a American professional baseball pitcher. Over his 17-year career, Cone played for five Major League Baseball teams, earned five All-Star selections, won the Cy Young Award, and was part of five World Series championship teams. After retiring, he became a commentator and co-authored a New York Times Best Selling autobiography.

Cone began his MLB career in 1986 with the Kansas City Royals. He quickly became a standout pitcher and was traded to the New York Mets in 1987. Cone achieved a 20-win season in 1988 and led the major leagues in strikeouts between 1990 and 1992. He won the Cy Young Award in 1994 during his time with the Royals.

In 1992, Cone joined the Toronto Blue Jays, with whom he won his first World Series. He then played for the New York Yankees starting in 1995, contributing to their four World Series victories.

On July 18, 1999, Cone pitched the sixteenth perfect game in MLB history. He struck out 19 batters in a single game in 1991 and held the Yankees' record for strikeouts per nine innings. Cone retired in 2003 due to a hip injury.

Cone subsequently transitioned to broadcasting, working for the YES Network and ESPN. He co-wrote Full Count: The Education of a Pitcher (2019) and co-hosts Toeing the Slab with Justin Shackil.

Off the field, Cone had a high-profile personal life, marrying Lynn DiGioia and having a son before divorcing in 2011. He is currently in a relationship with Taja Abitbol with whom he has a son.
