Biography: Drysdale, who went to school with Robert Redford, started his career as a right-handed pitcher with the Brooklyn / Los Angeles Dodgers in 1956. In 1962 he won 25 games and the Cy Young Award, recognising for best pitcher in Major League Baseball.
After his Major League Baseball career, Drysdale would go on to a sports broadcasting career which lasted from 1970 until his death in 1993. He was also inducted into the baseball Hall of Fame in 1984.
