Biography: DeMarcus Cousins is an American professional basketball player, widely recognized for his tenure in the NBA and his current playing for the Taiwan Beer Leopards of the T1 League. Notable for his dominant role as a center, Cousins earned accolades such as being a four-time NBA All-Star and twice named to the All-NBA Second Team.

Cousins began his journey in basketball at LeFlore Magnet High School, quickly becoming a top player and earning national recognition. In college, he played for the Kentucky Wildcats under Coach John Calipari, leading the team to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament with notable teammate John Wall.

Cousins entered the NBA as the 5th overall pick in the 2010 draft by the Sacramento Kings, where he demonstrated his skill and received NBA All-Rookie First Team honors.

Over his NBA career, Cousins was known for his performance on the court and occasional controversies off it. After a significant Achilles injury with the New Orleans Pelicans, he had subsequent plays with several teams, including the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers.

In 2023, Cousins transitioned to international play, signing with the Taiwan Beer Leopards. Across his career, Cousins also won gold medals with the United States national team at the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup and the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Off the court, he had a family, marrying Morgan Lang and having two children. Despite facing a domestic violence charge, which was later dropped, he has contributed philanthropically, as with a substantial donation to the Sacramento community.
