Biography: The television writer and producer is responsible for both the Law & Order Franchise, which started in 1990 and the Chicago franchise which began in 2012.

Both franchises are extremely successful. The original "Law and Order" (1990-2010) was nominated for the most consecutive Emmy Awards of any primetime drama series. Its follow-up "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit" (1999-) stars Mariska Hargity who won an Emmy for the role in 2006.

The Chicago franchise started with "Chicago Fire" (2012-)and has spawned three other shows.
