Biography: Draža Mihailović was a Yugoslav Serb general in World War II, when he led the Chetnik Detachments of the Yugoslav Army. This was a guerilla force founded in response to the 1941 German invasion of Yugoslavia.

Mihailović's force fought a guerrilla campaign against the Germans, during which they for a while were aligned and worked with Josip Broz Tito's Partisan forces. These two parties eventually came into open conflict, with some Chetniks even collaborating with the Axis powers.

While Mihailović sought to disappear after the war ended, he was caught in 1946 and executed by firing squad after the communist authorities of the Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia convicted him of high treason and war crimes.
