Biography: Duhan van der Merwe is a South African-born Scottish professional rugby union player known for his remarkable try-scoring ability. Major highlights include playing for Scotland internationally, joining the British & Irish Lions, and being the top try scorer in several competitions.

Van der Merwe's rugby career began at Outeniqa High School in South Africa, where he gained recognition for his talent. He was a standout at the Under-18 Craven Week and later became the top try scorer in the 2013 Under-18 International Series.

In 2014, he joined the Blue Bulls' academy and contributed to South Africa's Under-20 team, helping them to a second-place finish at the 2014 IRB Junior World Championship.

Transitioning into professional rugby, van der Merwe endured injuries that hampered his early career, but his move to Edinburgh Rugby in 2017 marked a turning point. Despite a hip injury, he became a key player for the team.
