Biography: Eisaku Satō was a Japanese politician who served as the 64th Prime Minister of Japan from 25 December 1964 to 7 November 1972.

A leading member of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), Satō was known for his work in pushing forward the treaty of mutual cooperation and security with the United States and his advocacy for the development of the new city of Tōkyō.

He also oversaw Japan's hosting of the 1964 Summer Olympics, the first Olympic Games held in Asia.

Satō's time as Prime Minister was marked by economic growth and political stability. Under his leadership, Japan enjoyed a period of rapid economic development, and he is generally considered to have been a successful Prime Minister.
