Biography: Gareth Bale is a Welsh professional footballer considered one of the best of his generation, and one of the all-time best Welsh players. He rose to prominence during his time with Tottenham Hotspur (2007-2013), where he transitioned from a left-back to a winger and established himself as one of the Premier League’s standout players.

Bale's performance at Tottenham led to an at the time world record transfer to Real Madrid in 2013, where he was a key player until 2022, contributing to multiple UEFA Champions League victories. At Real Madrid, Bale has played alongside football greats like Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modrić, and Sergio Ramos.

He is particularly remembered for his iconic overhead kick goal in the 2018 UEFA Champions League Final is regarded as one of the greatest goals in the competition's history. Bale was also awarded the FIFA World Cup Golden Ball in 2018.

In addition to his club success, Bale has been a key player for the Wales national team. He was the youngest player to ever represent Wales when he started in 2006, and has since represented his country in several UEFA European Championships, playing a pivotal role in Wales' historic run to the semi-finals in the 2016 tournament.
