Biography: Sir Garfield Sobers, commonly known as Gary Sobers, is a West Indian cricketer widely regarded as one of the greatest all-rounders in the history of the sport. He was skilled as a bowler, batsman, and fielder in his day and is still esteemed among the greats.

He made his Test debut for the West Indies at 17, starting out as a bowler before being promoted to the batting order. Sobers scored his first Test century in 1958 against Pakistan, where he also set a record with 365 not out. This was not broken until Brian Lara made 375 in 1994.
